Q: What is Podswoggle?
A: Podswoggle is a wrestling podcast (and now website) with entertainment. 5 guys muse about the past, present and future of the wrestling business in a lighthearted and comedic way.
Q: When did Podswoggle start?
A: Podswoggle started the week of Wrestlemania 26 in an attempt to stop talking about wrestling on our other podcast.
Q: Where is Podswoggle based out of?
A: The Swoggle Squad (as Tope affectionately named us) is mainly focused in
Q: You know, you keep saying it and it keeps bothering me somewhat. How did you come up with the name “Podswoggle?”
A: It was out of desperation, really. After brainstorming ideas for hours upon hours and not wanting to name the show something really corny like “Bell to Bell,” Mullet came inside from smoking a cigarette and Rich blurted out "God, I hope we don't have to use this, but Podswoggle?" and Mullet's face read "That's gonna be the best we can come up with, isn't it? Fuck." It just stuck and here we are.
Q: What is the podcast about?
A: The podcast normally consists of the Swoggle Squad giving their takes on the current news of the wrestling business or reminiscing about the past. The podcast also has several “annual” editions such as our Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Royal Rumble Pick ‘
Q: What are the articles about?
A: Read the titles to them and figure it out.
Q: How often can we expect updates?
A: There will be constant updates to the site, but for the time being, we are looking to have a new article up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. However, there will be other parts to the site that could change any time. So, check it every day so you don't miss anything!
Q: Alright, it sounds fun and everything, but why should we listen to you guys? What credentials do you have?
A: We are glad you asked because we are proud to brag. Beyond being die-hard wrestling fans, all of us have been performing either stand-up or improv comedy for the better part of the past 5 years. Mullet has a journalism degree from the
Q: Fine, fine! What is each member of the Swoggle Squad bringing to the table during the podcasts and on this website?
A: Mullet is the host of Podswoggle and the overseer of the content on the website. If something sucks, blame him. Tope is the voice of reason in most cases, analyst to history and the best singer of the bunch. Tope is also our webmaster, so this beautiful website is all his doing. Rich is the loud, boisterous fan whose passion is cute when positive and scary when negative. Rich is in charge of our social networking mediums. Augie is the casual fan, someone who doesn’t know a lot about wrestling and gets dragged deeper and deeper into the muck. Augie is the audio/visual expert for the site. Whidden is sort of the wild card of the group. His opinions vary, his allegiance change and his love for Dr. Phil never wanes. Whidden will be helping out Rich with the social networking and any other odd jobs the website brings about.
Q: How did you all meet?
A: As mentioned earlier, all of us have backgrounds in improv comedy. Mullet met Rich in 2007 and sometime shortly after that, Mullet dragged Rich back into wrestling. We both knew Augie then, but didn’t force him to start watching until 2009, which was right around the time we met Tope and he saw the championship belt hanging on our wall. He outed himself pretty quickly. Whidden has been around a couple years, but we didn’t know of his love for the squared circle until late in 2010.
Q: What got you into wrestling?
A: Mullet has been a fan since the womb. His earliest memories have wrestling in them and he hasn’t looked back since. Rich was a Hulkamaniac, but fell in and out of wrestling until he couldn’t stay away any longer. Whidden got into the New Generation in the mid 90s before meeting the man of his dreams, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Tope was channel surfing one day and saw a crucifix with Stephanie McMahon on it and he knew that was a good thing. Augie wanted to have some beers and he found out wrestling can get you drunk.
Q: Cool! This sounds like a lot of fun. I can write and contribute, too! How do I do it?
A: Calm down, first of all. Second of all, drop us a line. Our email is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Go ahead and write your article and maybe we will put it up on the site. You can talk to us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. We are open to any and all ideas. Q: What can Mullet, the writer of this FAQ, do to make each member of the Swoggle Squad angry when they read this?
A: For Whidden- Don't Punch Your TV
For Augie- He's Not So Bad
For Tope- Still Better than Cult...
For Rich- Look at the Sign!!!
